We want to try this one with more testers, and with more duvet covers, to get additional data before considering it as a pick, but it’s promising. If you’re wondering about overlap in the temperature range between the two different weights, the medium side of the light/medium and the medium side of the medium/extra were within roughly the same range as the other. The medium/extra had 3.8 to 4.9 degrees difference between the two sides. The light/medium had a range of 2.2 to 6.7 degrees difference between the sides, depending on where I measured. I got under each side, let the bed warm up for about 10 minutes while in it, and used an infrared thermometer to measure the surface of the sheets in several different spots (before I got in and after) to see if there was a real temperature change. Sales, which the company had expected to rise as much as 33 percent this year. Its stock has slumped nearly 83 percent in the past year. It’s available in a light/medium and medium/extra weight, and I tested both. But these days, Beyond Meat has lost some of its sizzle. The comforter is split down the middle, and one side has less fill and smaller sewn-through boxes than the other, to keep it cooler for hot sleepers. If you and your partner sleep at different temperatures: We thought The Company Store’s LaCrosse Dual Down Comforter was a gimmick (Alex tested and dismissed the down alternative version several years ago). But they are made with down from Feather Industries Canada, which provides a traceable number to source its down (we submitted the form in September 2021 to source ours but haven’t heard back yet as of this writing). None of the Brooklinen comforters carry an RDS certification for ethical down. And each is made with a different kind of feather: The 650-fill-power Lightweight is filled with recycled feathers collected from down-filled bedding and apparel, the All-Season we recommend has duck down, and the 750-fill-power Ultra-Warm has goose down.
